Key features

  • One data model over Axema, TECHFASS, CAME BPT and Hanwha Wisenet WAVE
  • Operator console for people, credentials, doors and schedules across every connected system
  • Edge appliance bridging on-premise panels to the API over a persistent connection
  • Operator-driven adoption: nothing is created in the canonical model without a decision

Backstory

Every access-control manufacturer has its own idea of what a person, a card and a door are, and none of them agree. Running a building with more than one system means doing the same piece of admin two or three times, in two or three places, and discovering the mismatch only when somebody cannot get in.

Ostrel puts one model over all of them. A person is a person whichever panel happens to hold them, and the console is the one place an operator works — the connectors underneath translate.

The part that took the longest to get right was what happens when a vendor system mentions somebody the platform has never seen. The obvious answer, create them automatically, quietly fills the canonical model with duplicates of the same human from three different systems. So nothing is created without an operator saying so: a vendor record stays a candidate until somebody adopts it, either as a new person or merged onto one another system already contributed.
